WHO’S THAT GIRL?” by ROBYN

Nope, not Madonna this time. Not even Annie Lennox. This girl is blonde, Swedish and a bit of a saucepot and she has most of Europe eating out of her hand at the moment. She’s sold 100,000 copies of her album and this cracking single gives you a clue why. A nod to ‘80s electro-pop, it’s a bit of a homage to Madge, but Robyn’s very much her own babe – an outstanding singer of great credibility who’s not above nicking ideas from other icons (not just Madonna, but Fergie and Kylie too) which she delivers with a knowing wink.

She’s got a neat line in lyrics, too. “Good girls don’t say no or ask you why/I won’t let you love me until you really try…good girls are sexy like every day/I’m only sexy when I say it’s okay…” Got that, babeboss? Sassy and strong – I like that. I also like her strange, boyish haircut and the rather cute drum major outfit she struts about in on the video. The vid also has a rather daring bit when she bends over and starts singing between her legs. And I really don’t wanna know what you think about that bit!
