07/11/2007 KYLIE: 2 Hearts Her first new single since recovering from cancer, it HAD to be good. And guess what, babeluvers – it IS! Kylie goes all Monroe on us with a blonde retro look, 50-style dress in the vid and a fine old-fashioned stomp of a song, complete with Beatles trills at the end of each line. It’s all been done a trillion times before, of course, and the song, the image and the video scarcely add anything to the way Madonna, Christina Ag and loads of others have done before her, but who cares? This is Kylie and Kylie’s fab, right? The song IS very catchy and sounds great booming out of the radio so if we need a soundtrack to lift the spirits during dark, uninviting November, then let it be this one. Kylie’s an icon. Kylie lives, Kylie sings, Kylie looks stunning. It’s not such a bad old world, is it? | ||
