COMMON feat LILY ALLEN Drivin’ Me Wild

I know plenty of people who’d like to send Lily Allen into space (without a return ticket) but I’m not one of them. Oh no, I love Lily! And she looks real cute singing in this vid dressed as an atronaut. As a fully paid up member of the babe sisterhood I say we NEED talented babes like her who aren’t afraid to lash out and speak their minds…even when their minds are in their backsides. Lily’s own songs are clever, funny and lyrical and she brings a welcome gust of freshness and vitality to ol’ Common’s rather dour, glowering raps on a song that steams along at a merry old pace. It starts as a medium burner and builds into a glowing furnace in no time.
I’m not sure WHY Lily is dressed as an astronaut, of course – it’s not like they’re singing Space Oddity or anything – but she looks cute anyway (and even cuter, babeluvers in the more familiar low-cut green frock.) This is produced by His Almighty Kanye West in trademark dirtball style, though Kanye, Common and Lily are all outgunned by a cameo from Lauren London, who really is one of the most beautiful babes in the world. So in all it adds up to a fiery little package that may take a listen or two to get the juices flowing but by next week we’ll all end up in astronaut costumes dancing on our heads to this. Or is that just me?
