10/10/2007 SMACKDOWN v RAW 2008 (PS2, PS3, XBOX 360, Wii) Time for a confession, babeluvers. Even out there in cyber space I was hooked, like everyone else, on the wonders of the WWE and the great characters who’d ripple their biceps, flex their muscles, sweat their butts off and demonstrate their moves and I had quite a thing about Bret Hart. Oooh yes, Bret Hart, I couldn’t begin to tell you the holds I wanted to make on that boy. So yep, you can bet the first wrestler I turned to on this latest version of the classic game was in the legends section and my old amour Bret. Tricky stuff, though, ‘cos it’s all about tactics. Which style should I choose to send my man into battle with? Brawler? Hardcore? High flyer? Dirty? Technical? Being a bit of a WWE purist I nominated Submission Artist and was on the edge of my seat as I took Bret into the ring to re-live his past glories. We’re a good team, me and Bret. It’s all good. The animations are brilliant and some of the moves take your breath away as the skilful player will master the chops, punches and power bombs and the ultimate aim of the new game is to develop a new young wrestler into one of the kings of the ring and gets invited into the Hall of Fame. Bret’s there already, of course, ready to show the young pups how it’s done. There are a lot of expectations on this game, but it doesn’t disappoint. | ||
